The Royal Canadian Mint was founded in 1908 and its headquarters are in a historic building in central Ottawa. In 1931 the building on Sussex Drive and the entire minting enterprise passed into Canadian hands, and the Mint now is Canadian institution.

Today, The Royal Canadian Mint produces hand-crafted collector and commemorative coins, coins for circulation, gold bullion coins, and medals.
