Malibu is well known as a favorite spot for living among the people in the entertainment industry.
The city of Malibu is actually a 21 mile strip along the Pacific Coast Highway. The Malibu Colony, as it is known today, used to be a private land belonging to the Rindge family but later they were forced to sell most of their land and the colony was born. It is situated along the Malibu road, Malibu Lagoon State Beach and the Malibu Bluffs Park. There is no public access to the colony or the beach.

Malibu still has something to offer to not so rich and famous – if you are a surfer one of the best surfers spots in southern California is Surfrider County Beach. The beach is located east of the Malibu Lagoon State Beach where swimming is prohibited – it is an exclusive spot for surfers only.
