Empire State Building is again the tallest building in New York City after September 11th, 2001 and the destruction of the World Trade Center.
Empire State Building is probably the best known skyscraper in the world and one of the most popular landmarks in New York.

The construction was commenced on March 17, 1930 and was completed ahead of schedule for a little over a year in 1931. Empire State Building was the tallest building at the time 443 meters (1454 feet), has 73 elevators, 103 stories and is visited by more than 2 million people every year. The Art Deco lobby alone is worth visiting. The best panorama views over Manhattan are at night from the 86th and 102th observation decks and quick tip – the shortest line is in the morning and before it gets dark.

One interesting fact – in 1945 a plane crashed into Empire State Building.
