Canadian Museum of Civilization is the most visited museum in the country. It is most renowned for its permanent exhibitions. Canadian Museum of Civilization was founded in 1856 as the display hall of minerals, biological specimens and artifacts from across Canada.

The impressive Grand hall has a windows wall which is 112 m wide by 15 m high.

The First Peoples Hall is located on the first level and is dedicated to the Aboriginal peoples of Canada.

The Canada Hall is on the third level and presents the Canadian history beginning with the arrival of Viking explorers.

The Canadian Museum of Civilization's features an IMAX® Theatre and was the first theatre in the world to combine both an IMAX screen and an IMAX Dome.

Opening Hours: From May 1 to October 8 – open daily from 9am to 6 pm
From October 9 to April 30: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed Monday)
